81 dyna wide glide
I hope someone can answere this, I have an 81 dyna wide glide that says it is an AMF acording to the harley sticker on the tank, I dont think they every made an AMF wide glide with the shovelhead in it or did they, I had a stroker kit installed with a 400 cam so now its an 86ci also does this make it a 1540 or what?

In 1981, AMF sold the company to a group of thirteen investors led by Vaughn Beals and Willie G. Davidson for $80 million. No matter what you call it, its a Harley..... and a Shovel to boot. Yes, in 1981 Harley did make a Wide Glide. A pretty cool one.

Mine too. I'll never forget waking up about 1 in the morning sometime in the summer of 1980 to the sound of a Harley pulling up next to my bedroom window. My Mother was so pissed that the old man brought a new Harley (80 WG with Flames) that they fought all night about it. I was 9 years old at the time. I sat up the rest of the night staring out the window at it. I was amazed. That was one bad a$$ looking scoot. He actually still has it.
