It's my understanding to get the length of the shock, I can measure the shock bolts on center? I had progressive 412's on my 78 yamaha xs11 with the progressive front springs. Plus I had an air adjustment on the front springs. I could really tailor my suspension in about 5 min. Anyway, I digress. Point is,I was happy with the performance of the progressives on that bike. Sure I'd be equally happy on my dyna.
I lowered mine and got a better ride using shorter Progressive 412's. \\; No, they aren't the greatest shocks out there but they are much better than stock, in my opinion, and they aren't \\;that expensive either. \\; I wouldn't put a dime into getting my stockers cut down. \\; I'm happy to have them on my shelves collecting dust. \\; Lowering blocks are an option but they change the geometry of the rear end setup.

 \\;I have a near new set of Progressive 412-4037C (11") \\; I'll sell for a $100.00. Just got them from a forum member who thought they were a little to stiff, while they are stiffer when you hit them hard (railroad, potholes,etc). They are pretty smooth under normal road conditations .. Why then am I selling you ask?
Well , I relaced my dyna front hub to a 21" rim, this raised the front about an inch. Then with the drop from the progressives it was just to much slope for me.. Looked to unlevel for my tastes, had to try, but now I know its not for me..
I don't want to blow a sale for RonnR, but be sure to consider that Progressive recommends heavy duty versions of their shocks if your normal load is at or above 200 lbs. most of the time. \\; I don't know what your weight is but I thought I'd throw that out. \\; I've seen several people say they bought the regular shocks and then regretted it because they are usually over that weight limit.
Sorry Rounder I didnt take any photos.. \\; The main thing I didnt like was, it made my V&\\;H BSS and the swing arm aligment way off. The BigShots had dropped by 2" at the axle.
I don't understand why it's such a big deal to bring up an old post.
 \\;
I'd prefer adding to an old one than answering a new one asking the same old questions!
 \\;
I have the lowering air shocks for touring bikes and it will get you pretty low without bottoming out.

 \\;
It's not a big deal. \\; Just comical that RonnR offered to sell his shocks to someone that posted this originally 2 years ago.

Haha - I didn't catch the dates either.
