2006 fxdwg ,i just had stator replaced with new one piece design, all bolts had fallen out .now bike is making a wirling howling sound when it is idling.doesnt matter if clutch is engaged or not. mechanic says it sounds like tensioner and it should go away after about 100 miles,has anyone else had this problem

I've read a lot of the IPB threads in this forum and they all state hearing a whiring noise...and the only years really affected are 2006. The issue was resolved with the 2007 models.
Is your mechanic one that works at the dealer? if not, go to the dealer. You can get HD to pay for the fix.

I had a whining noise from my primary when I first broke in my bike. Took about 1500 miles for it to completely disappear but now its gone. I don't know if the fact that yours is whining with the clutch pulled in means anything. Mine only whined when I was rolling slowly in first gear from a stop. I was happy when the noise finally disappeared. I hope you have the same luck. My bike made a lot or weird noises when I broke it in but they are all gone now.
