Does anyone know of a company offering a top of the tree tool bag that is made with a recess in it that would wrap around the speedo on an FXD? I have been thinking about just making one out of water-resistant nylon, but it'd be sweet to have a leather one and, well, I don't see myself being able to make one out of leather any time soon.
I think this would be a great selling product, because I actually like the functionality of where my speedo is, but I don't like the asthetics of it and I'm sure there are other FXD owners out there that feel the same way. I rolled a blanket up there once and loved the way it hid the speedo, just don't wanna be the poser rolling around with a bed roll on my way to work! Haha!
I hear ya. I love having my speedo up where I can see it, and I love my aircraft style fuel cap (it's actually one of the reasons I bought the FXD) but the speedo does get in the way of things like windshield pockets, some full fairings etc. It would be great if a company made some bag options with the bar mounted speedo in mind.
Yeah, something like that, but bigger. Maybe tool bag was the wrong choice of words, I guess I'm thinking more along the lines of a roll bag, maybe about the size of a small blanket rolled up. Just something to keep gloves, glasses, and stuff like that in.
I just hung a small waterproof bag in front of the Speedo. It's not leather, but it's big enough for me to empty my pockets when I ride (Wallet and phone). I look around from time to time but I've never found anything better then it. I found it in the clearance rack at a local Pep Boys. It's supposed to be for an ATV.
