Help! Warning light and no power

I've got an 09 Low Rider with 12,000 miles. I've bought the bike about 1,000 miles ago. Recently my battery went dead; it's the original battery. After charging it I tried to start the bike but on the speedo the red key-shaped light stayed on and there was no power when I hit the starter button. After a couple times of turning everything off and then back on, the light went off and I could start the bike. The bike continues to have this issue.

Any ideas on what is going on? Thanks for the help!

How about trying a new battery?

Try a new battery in the security puck.

Is the security puck the black key FOB? Sorry but I'm new to Dyna's.

Yes, your battery is going dead in your security fob, replace it.

Seems strange that if the fob battery was bad the bike would restart after switching the ignition off and on. Usually when those batteries go bad they don't recover. I would change it anyway but also check all the battery cable connections.
