Default Question for you all.

is there a year or years to stay away from in the Dyna line.
i used to have a Sportster and the years to stay away from were the old iron heads like 85 and older (if i remember right) but the Evo motors from 86 and up were ok and reliable.
the one i had was a 94 XL883H and lookin for another bike here very soon and wanted to make sure on what im lookin for if a deal comes my way

Personally I wouldn't get an 06 unless I knew for sure the stator/rotor and the inner primary bearing problems were fixed.

The '06's are the ones with a few problems. Nothing that can't be fixed and probably already has been. Like was said before, the inner primary bearing can go out and the 2 piece rotor eventually fails and destroys the stator. On my bike, I've replaced both as preventative measures and have not had any issues at all.

I dont know but I hear the 02's have the forged crank and lefty bearing. It would make for a solid 95" or 98" build. Of course you have to inspect ant pre 07's for cam chain tensioner issues that have more than 20,000 miles.

No Dynas in the '80's. First one released in '91. FXR's before that.

To pigguback on to Crazy's commnt, according to your region it may be cheaper to get a 90's model Dyna....FXR's are in high demand in certain regions....
