Default Handlebar Madness

So, I am trying to put shorter handlebars on my 2002 FXDWG. I have 18's on it right now, but due to the particularly **** inspector at the Schoffield Barracks safety inspector I have purchased some cheap bars to temporarily replace it with. My problem is that I have never had to trace down the wiring or do anything like this on a Harley. It appears that the wiring is running through the frame, but I don't want to mess anything up. I am unable to find any schematics online and need some help to make sure I do it correctly. The current bars are internally wired, but I won't mess with it on the new bars. Another though I had was just cutting all the connections below the handlebars and putting quick disconnects, but I am not sure how many wires are in the bunch. Really what I need is some good advice from a veteran. Thanks, in advance.

i can tell you there are 28 wires 14 per side. and I would not recomend quick disconnects. if you are going to do something do it the right way. solder and heat shrink.

Don't the earlier dynas terminate under the seat? I seem to remember that in a post or two.

The disconnects are in the frame near the neck.
Pull the seat, you will find a large "loop" of a wire bundle down in the bottom, feed that into the frame as you pull the wires from the neck, it's a pain but that is how you get to the disconnects on 05 and earlier.
Then disassemble the connectors to pull the wires through the bars.
There are not 28 wires going up the bars, you should have an 8 pin connector for each side plus signals if they are still on the bars.
