Looking to put an Inverted Front End on the Street Bob this winter, Hoping to find one with a mix of black and chrome. But I know how important a good front end is, I don't want to get screwed, so if you guys could post pics and recommendations that would be great!
If you are considering a new fork, what are your reasons?
If you are doing it for looks only there are some very inexpensive e-Bay complete units out there. They are chrome, large, heavy and offer no riding improvement except looks.
If you are looking for ride improvement than you must do your homework more than asking for opinions here.
It is the internals that are important and not the color.
It is adjustable ie: compression, rebound, and spring pre-load?
How large are the cartridges.
How does it work ie: bushings encapsulated into the slider and the fork tube slides in them or does the bottom of the slider have a bushing and the top (inner) bushing is encapsulated on the fork tube and slides onto the aluminum slider?
What kind of calipers will fit? What type of caliper mounting system on the axle clamps does it have: ie: radial or side mount?
Is it easily rebuild-able and can you get parts from the vendor?
Is it the right length?
I hope I have helped you decide to get what is right for you as far as research goes.
