Default Oil level???

You may remember me from the month long, 6 trips to the shop fiasco with my lights. Well, HD "offered" (I had to ask) to pay for my 1k for having my bike in the shop for the entire 1st month I owned it. Well, I picked it up from the 1k and rode home. The next morning I noticed oil stains all over the motor and oil all over the front of the bike, on the wires and voltage regulator. I figured somebody just got sloppy with the filter and spilled oil. I decided to check the level (cold at this time) and it was to the very top of the hot fill line!. I managed to pull about 1/4 quart out which left the oil 1 notch below the hot fill line cold. Back to the dealer 7th time. They cleaned it up (poorly) and returned it to me saying they drained the oil and refilled to the proper level and everything was good. I pulled the dipstick this morning cold and the oil is still just 1 notch below the hot fill line! My question is, is this over full??? From my understanding, anything over the mid point on the dipstick is too much. Is there too much oil in this bike?

I filled mine to the fill line first oil change, then when I had oil coming out of the breather holes( not a lot but enough to start dripping at about 300 miles). next time about middle of the full mark now wipe out the air filter once a month instead of once a week.

ride it until its up to normal operating temp. stop & let it idle a minute then check the oil on a level surface while on the jiffy stand. If its over the full mark its over full.

When the engine is cold don't fill past the mid way mark.

So in other words, you're saying just what it says in the owners manual? That's odd...
