I noticed that the file is no longer posted at Boxnet. Any chance you could repost there again or at another location. I would really like to see that service bulletin. The folks at my HD dealership aren't aware of it.

Flapper must have done lots of digging to pull this old thread up. Welcome Flapper to the board.

flapper, could that be the one linked in post # 40 or 41????
I have checked on and off about recalls for my wideglide, and just recently discovered this particular recall. I started having problems with fast idle at start up and sometime the bike was slow starting. My wife decided to get me a full 10,000 mile service for my birthday and now that present has an added almost $700 for having to replace the ecm. This recall was not posted on the HD website until my bike was out of warranty. So I can't help but wonder if this extra cast could have been avoided if I would have been notified sooner.

This is a flash of the ECM and if your ECM was faulty this would not have been a solution and not having this flash would not have caused damage to the ECM. This was also for early build '07s. What is the build date of your WG?
Did the dealer explain why or how the ecm was damaged?

You don't think riding my WG for 3 years and 10000 with the ecm issue would affect the ecm? The bike seem to run fine until recently. I don't know what to think yet I haven't talked to HD about what they say caused the problem. This product notification hasn't been out that long and now bike is out of warranty. It is just hard to put out the $700 for ecm replacement knowing that there could have been a problem all along that should have been addressed.
