My new project is installing a 2000 FXDWG tank , with 07 SB dash onto my 2002 FXD, I now have all the parts i need like fuel gauge and sending unit, will be reusing my stock speedo. I did have to cut out the stock dash mount from the tank and make a new mount for the SB dash .The contours of the dash are fine but will have to shorten the dash as it is about 2 inches longer than the tank, other than that project is going well. This set up will allow me to remove the speedo from the bars. I have attached pics of the tank and bracket i made with simple tools, the tank goes for paint late this fall when i have more cash, when tank is installed will post some pics, but most likely in the spring.
Can anyone tell me what the small hole in the cavity under the dash is for, it seems blocked, i thought maybe it was for water drainage but not sure
