I bought some black 11" 412 shock off a forum member and it didn't look that great with chrome strut covers. So I took off the covers and I wanted a little more black. I loved my black and chrome mix, but the black is like a drug, so I painted my chrome battery band with the gloss black appliance epoxy. This winter I'm hoping for wrinkle black rocker covers and I'll keep the trees polished, signal bar chrome and the pipes chrome. I think that will be a good mix. Oh yea I also got a smoked tail light lens and smoke rear sigs also. I telling you a drugggg!!!! I like it so far!
Looks great man. I'm thinking of doing the opposite...adding chrome. Not a lot just enough to contrast the black. I took off or painted most of the horribly placed factory chrome pieces already but I feel like the bike is getting too black and it's starting to bore me a little. I may look to chrome things like heat shields, levers, etc. Oh and I'm definitely looking to change all of the engine covers from wrinkle black to gloss black. I don't know, we'll see. Sorry to hijack your thread.
Hey Jaron, I need to paint my fork legs and some fellas were saying that the Gloss Black Appliance Paint is some good stuff to paint my lowers with.
What brand appliance paint did you use?
Does it feel like it hardens up nicely?
The battery band on your bike turned out nice.
Yes it hardens up real good. In the thread below will tell you everything you need to know for your forks. I did mine about two years ago think and it has held up great. There is also follow up pics in the thread below. Also makes sure to cover everything that you don't want over spray on, including cars in the driveway.

No worries man. I had the black and chrome for three years now, so thought I'd change it up a little.
