With both the edge (ghost) and the easy brackets you just turn the key and pick them up off the bike.check youtube for both.they're the same cept the edge brackets are adjustable and could be used on diff bikes.

My rear pic is too dark to see and the bike is currently torn down. As for the ease of removal, it probably takes between 5 and 15 seconds to remove each one. The hardest part seems to be orienting the key in 180 degree increments to fit properly into the lock. A barrel key or symmetrical key would be an improvement, but it's not a big deal.
