Default Need ideas-fuel tank customizing?
Would like to remove the guages from my tank and have a smooth look. Does anyone make a console cover that is smooth or is body work my only option?

personally i would fiberglass the whole top section and body work that. make it like glass!

How about something like the Softail black line console cover. Don't know if you could mod it to fit a dyna??

STREET BOB DASH? thats a good suggestion, The fibreglass option also has appeal- would one ever need access? seems you don't have to get in there other than to service guages???

you can glass it and still have access i would glass body pannel push pins into it, have those line up to the stock moutn locations, done, wheny ou want it off pull on it... would be fairly simple if you are comfortable workign wtih fiberglass. yes you ahve to get in there if your fuel pump ever kicks it you have to get to it that way

Personally I think the Super Glide dash is the best compromise, a much better fill spout that is nearly impossible to spill gas on the tank and much lower profile than other consoles. Need to swap tanks to do this though. That is why I swapped my tank out to the SG with aircraft style gas cap.

have an FXD at present--can you give a direction for the gas cap? The stock cap is pretty smooth??
