They're soooooooo stupid !!!
A few months ago, our cousins hit one with their motorhome.
Actually, the deer hit them. Running toward them. They were
doing about 40 mph (near Lodi Calif - right near town)
The damn deer put it's head down and rammed em. A young
buck I'm thinkin. But it ran right at and rammed a 34 ft
Class-A bus size Mtr Home. Took out the headlight and some light (but expensive) cosmetic damage to the front.
Needless to say it killed the deer.That deer sure showed that motorhome.
Stupid giant rodents (No problem here puttin bambi in the cross hairs)

All kidding aside, my heart goes out to you, man. Happen to me last fall after 40 + years! was real disappointed. I guess it's true what they say... It's not if....It's when.

Glad you were not severely injured. We have the same issue here. Hunting season is open sot they are spooked and being driven where they don't normally travel. I have had one close call this fall myself.
I blame people as much as the deer, a lot of people feed them or bait them. Deer can only be deer but people don't have to be morons.
