Default 2012 Fatbob add-ons Wish List

I just traded in my Low Rider for a 2012 Fat Bob. I have a big wish list. Here's all the items I want to add before next spring. 1) Detachable Windshield 2) 6" Black Pull Back Risers 3) Detachable Sissybar/luggage Rack 4)Detachable saddlebags 5) Exhaust System & maybe upgraded intake....

When I was looking @ the HD website, it seems that I have to buy several things to make the sissybar, luggage rack, & saddlebags detachable. Such as a docking hardware kit, sideplates, & so on.

Any suggestions & experiences on these items?

Thanks

It is tricky figuring out all the bits needed for a H-D sissy bar and rack. Easiest thing to do is pop in or call your local dealer and get them to work it out. Its an expensive thing to get wrong.

Default detachable sissy

I found the best bet was to go to the dealership and tell them exactly what you want..you may spend a few more dollars, but you get what you want...unless you truly know your **** you never know what is going to show up in the mail..

They just obviously do not want to sell those parts.... They should look it from customer point of view..

I just picked up my 2012 Fat Bob with some of the accessories fitted. Having trouble getting a few things because HD or V&H can't supply yet.

The Fat Bob has a fairly limited range of racks, sissy bars etc, compared with other models.

Here's what I had fitted:

52866-06 Detachable side plates chrome
53964-06B Docking Hardware (I already have a lockable dock fitting from the last bike)
52300049 Round bar medium low sissy bar uprig chrome
51641-06 medium low smooth top stitched backrest pad
54055-10 Tapered sport luggage rack chrome

There are other options of course and make sure your dealer checks the numbers.

Other parts I've put on so far are:

6 inch curved chrome handlebar riser
Airfoil pegs, shifter, etc
LCD oil level and temp dipstick
Chrome powertrain bolt kits
Flush gas tank cap and led fuel gauge (kit)

Lots to choose from and there are so many bits you can put on... All part of making it yours ..!

Have fun!

I like the HD detach. hardware especially because I have rigid mount saddlebags. Some folks thing they are ugly. I find them functional.

Yes . Very happy with all of them. I really like the 6 inch curved riser up front and the heal rests.

I also have on order:

V&H big shots
Race tuner
Heavy breather
Stinger wheels and tires
Stinger rotors
Speedo/tach combo
Jiffy stand extension
Chrome battery cover band
Black rocker covers
Chrome lower rocker covers

And I'll probably get a solo seat, rack, bib for a change option. And I'm looking at braided brake lines.

If I get divorced after all of that I'll spend even more, but chances are that will do me for a long while ... Perhaps the mirrors...!!??

I went a bit over the top with bits but it was my second ride and I decided up front what I wanted to buy when I bought the bike to try and get better pricing.
