I have an 07 FXD, i just recieved my new front turn signals. The new signals only have two black wires and the wiring on my bike has a blue, purple and black wire, not sure how to hook them up. The new signals are the auto gem baby bullets. Thanks in advance
I think you may have gotten rear signals.
Are the bulbs single or dual element?
The front sigs are dual element and have three wires... 1 ground, 1 low element (for running light) and 1 high element (for turn).
Some 2 wire signals are actually capable of Run, Turn, operation. the shell is grounded through the metal of the mount and 1 wire is Run, the other is Turn. Or it could be strictly turn.
Easiest way to find out is with a battery, ground the body of the light and touch each wire to power, if each wire gives light it will give you Run and Turn.
H-m-m-m-m before I'd start hooking the wires up to a battery . . . I think I'd use an ohmmeter to see which wire goes to what.
Option #1) If there is continuity between the wires and no continuity to the housing then you have a single filament lamp and one of the wires is (+) and the other is the ground (-) and unless the lamp is an LED it won't matter which is which.
Option #2) If each wire individually has continuity to the housing, then you have a dual filament lamp that is using the housing as the ground (-) circuit. Each wire is (+) for it's filament.

This link takes you to AutoGem Installation Instructions; if I understand well you have the two wire (single filament) version. According to the Instruction sheet one wire has to be connected to ground and the other to 12 volt DC.

Not everybody owns an Ohmmeter, you won't hurt anything touching the leads to a battery.
