Default FXDB or FXDF?

Looking to buy either an '08 FB or '09 SB.

Both have about 18k miles, stage 1, V&H pipes, etc. The SB is actually a little better deal @ $9,200, which I think is not too bad a price.

Question to those that have gone from Fat Bob-->Street Bob, or vice versa, as to which bike you prefer and why. Pro's and con's, etc.

Unlike many...I'm going from touring bikes to a cruiser based on my riding style and preferences.

Appreciate any feedback...

My brother in-law loves his new FB(all stock). He's coming off a Softail Springer and he likes seating position better , the ride quality better and the sportier feel of the bike better. The one thing he hates though is the Honda like sound of the 2-1-2 pipe. Hates it!
I haven't ridin it yet so I can't comment. But he's broken up(bad back, legs) a bit and he says he can ride it all day and not get fatigued.

I can however comment on the SB(all stock). I like the bike but hate the seat. The suspension seems a bit more harsh than my Super Glide as well. This can probably be cured with the stock shock adjustments. I would guess the the FB would ride a little better with the big front tire as well.
The SB is mid control the FB is forward. Which do you like?

I say ride both and then decide.

IMO the FB has better handling and looks better with the front tire, dual headlights and ducktail.

also I prefer the foreward controls and the dual front disc,

only thing i miss is a ginormuos apehanger,

and yes the stock exhaust sucks bigtime, that's why there's aftermarket.

i'd say, go for the FB, but you'll have to be happy with it.

test 'em both and decide.

good luck.

I've ridden both, they loaned me a fxdb while the FB was in for warranty work. SB handles nice, no doubt, looks real cool and is very straight forward as harleys go, but i would never trade my FB in for a SB , its a lot easier to customize the FB, i can't go into details since this is all my opinion, all i want to say is the SB may seam a little better deal, but also was 3000$ lesss straight outta the showroom !
FXDB- cons
no-
hole for two up seat,
no holes for passenger foot pegs
sideplates for sissy nada -can be done with re-location of rear turn sigs
detachable wind shield don't fit
Did i mention how much i love my FB!

I can't stand the ugly rear fender or forward controls. Otherwise, I'd have a Fat Bob. I love the dual disc front end, and the steam roller tires.

I bought a SB and made it look like a Super Glide. Guess I didn't care for the SB fender either lol.

I don't know what Street Bob he's talking about but mine came with all of the above.I'm on my second two up seat, I've had passenger pegs on and off and have a back rest on it right now that didn't require turn signal relocation. And there are plenty on here with detachable windshields.

I'm not a fan of the big front tire, the dual headlights or the fender of the fat bob. So you can figure which bike I like more. It's all your preference, simple as that. Each bike will have its pros and cons.

Personally, I've never really dug the looks of the FB, but that's just my opinion and doesn't mean chit. I love my SB, and she will be staying with me for quite awhile. Hope to one day have another bagger in the stable though.

As stated, try and ride both, and then go with whichever one you dig.

I guess im the odd one,
I cant do the twin headlights, the 16" front wheel& tire, and the rear fender...
The SB looks traditional DYNA....
too each his own though....
