Default Need Help on Hardware

Well, my Ebay experiences haven't been the best lately. I bought and received the adjustable Highway peg mounting kit, but it didn't come with the hardware to mount it to the bike. (2002 superglide). I called the HD dealer and they won't/don't sell the screws/bolts to mount it to the frame. Can you guys offer some suggestions here, like what exactly is to be used, and where can I find it. Thanks for your help!

Go to a new dealer... Got the bolts, washers, and a free copy of the directions from mine for about $3.00. Guess they wanted to keep me as a customer, since I did buy the bike from them!

Do you have a copy of the instructions? It has all the parts and part numbers that comes with the kit.

I have a copy. I can E-mail you a copy if you need it. You could probably get the bolts and the allen Setscrews at a hardware store.

By the way I have the whole kit (Chrome) with o-ring pegs (Harley bar&shield etched on ends) for sale if anyone is interested. They where on my bike for about thirty miles. I switched to forward controls.

Most of the 'kits' don't come with the bolts.

They sell them in a package with cardboard backing...

I found mine on the Multi-fit wall at my dealer. Even had choices of styles.

My dealer also has tons of chrome bolts/washers/nuts behind the counter that sell for between $.50 and $1.00 each

Most of the dealers can look up the size of the bolts, washers and nuts needed. At the least, they could give you the sizes and I am sure they would want to sell them to you rather than a local hardware store

Pictures are coming. I will start a new thread called "Look what I got!" just as soon as I figure out how to include them. Probably will be tomorrow. [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Well my Hwy peg mount was from Custom Chrome and it came with everything but the bottom line is Those bolts are common on EVERY Dyna since around 1995 or so, and just about every dealer should be able to provide you with those 4 bolts. I couldnt remember the exact size so I made a point to go out to the garage and remove one of the bolts and measure it and check the thread with my tap and die set to confirm the thread size.

This is the hardware that bolts the mounts to the frame of your bike.
Here is exactly what you need:
4 - 3/8 NC16 1in long, (HD and alot of hardware stores call these 3/8 course thread bolts)
4 - 3/8 split lock washers
4 - 3/8 flat washers
1 - Bottle of Loctite blue and use on ALL 4 bolts
