yeah thats my thought too, lotsa coin but gives a person ideas as to what can be done for making something different and sending for powder coating, especially if you know a buddy with some machining equipment
Its not a straight forward procedure to DLC the forks ( Diamond Like Coating ) as the process is a high pressure, high temp deal and you need to cut the lower damper ring off the stanchion using a lathe and then TIG it back on after the coating.Diamond Like Coating is the toughest coating known and literally covers the surface in micro diamonds, making it ultra hard and friction free, so its ideal for forks, cam lobes etc. Pete from Rocket Bobs do mine and they turned out awesome!
