In fact, my liners developed a hot spot that burned a blister on my hand. Once it started to heal, the liners overheated again in the same spot and blistered the scab from the first event. Not a pretty sight.
Thanks for the explanation, that totally makes sense.

What are suggestions for good heated gloves that are not SUPER BULKY? I can't bring myself to buy any online because I don't want to get them and be disappointed by how thick they are. I'd love to have gloves like my warm weather gloves, just heated and with a small amount of insulation to hold the heat in/keep the cold out.

Thanks again!

Heated liners. They go in any gloves you already have and cost a lot less.

I can't speak for the other brands, I have 2 pair of heated gloves, the carbon fibre knuckle and the full leather set. The full leather set is not as bulky as the carbon knuckle set. The leather set is no more bulky than a pair of red wing gauntlets I have, and they are pretty thin, I think they have some thinsulate lining in them.

My experience has been that heated grips work best in cool weather, and only if you have some sort of fairing or hand guard that keeps the wind from your hands. they don't do much for your finger tip's either.
Heated gloves work in all weather, you can use the heat troller to control how much heat you get, and they tend to heat your hand evenly.
also, if you have more than one motorcycle, you only need one pair of gloves, heated grips you need to have one each motorcycle.

you need to add other to the poll...........

i had asked about handle bar mitts like they use on snowmobiles
awhile back because i hate riding with gloves on and someone posted
a cheap pair for $24.99 +shipping cant remember total cost but it was
well under $30 and i gotta say it was the best money i have spent for
winter riding to date.

i had to make them fit since they werent made for the harley
and its cables but a couple slices with a razor blade and then a couple
of old boot laces wrapped around to tie them off and no glove riding for
the past 6 weeks.

coldest day so far has been 28° and at 70mph my hands were still nice and
warm and the only cold i felt was the clutch and brake levers while shifting
and braking tue to cold transfer through the bars. much colder and a thin
pair of gloves should do the trick.

they dont look great but as another stated " i will take function over form
any day of the week.

I just spent $124.99 at HDHD for the Harley brand of heated golves, (gift card for my birthday I had to use). Even on sale they cost too much.. They work killer so far having had them for 3 days... I read here that someone said 45* was the point at which they don't do the job????
Here the high temp for the week won't hit that temp. And yesterday morning at 7:30 it was 21* outside my house when I took off for a couple of hours of riding, With the gloves and the rest of my non heated gear, I don't get cold... Just no way out of this valley without hitting snow/ice or I would still be going!!

Have a set of heated glove liners from Cozy Winters, they work good. The liners only heat the back side of my hand. Had to where them backwards so they would heat the palm side worked better for my liking. The back of my hand doesn't feel much of the cold like the palm side. By the way had to add that they work well down to at least 15 degrees F, haven't rode any colder than that.

My choice would be some top of the range ski /snowboard inner gloves.Great for -20%.Bout Ł30- 40 uk.Then a bigger set of winter gloves.Hein Gerike 2 finger ones(parthenon?or similar) retailed at Ł40.Thats the warmest I have found.
Bar mitts are great but look really sh*t.
Heated grips .Make the grips too fat and not that warm
Generally if you ride in winter your hands get cold but those are the best solutions i have found

Heated grips first - you always have them with you! An evening ride in mid-summer can get quite chilled, so you can get a welcome warm up. You have to decide before you set off to take heated gloves along for the ride.
