Default fxrt fairing...

so after doing alot of highway miles this year, rideing in 40 and colder temps, and planning a trip to florida in the spring ive decided its time for a fairing. i was going to go with i harley 1/4 fairing but after looking thru an old harley book i want an fxrt style one. i know ide haveto fab a mounting system for the dyna but i plan on gutting the inside anyway to put a custom fiberglass sterio n gps. i also want to make it all removible so i dont haveto use it puttin around town...but anyway does anyone run a fxrt style fairing on your dyna or fxr . if you do, do you have pics advise or an idea of where i can get one cheap.checked ebay but there all pricy.

thanks

and sry for the ramble lol

There was a thread last week - that is a frame mounted fairing so I don't think it will be easily removable but it would look pretty good.

That bike is f*cking sick!!

I see fairings on craigslist sometimes for a reasonable price. You can check with Elvis at elvisplace.com. He carries all the parts you'll need. He's also part of the reason, along with the fact they are rare, that prices are pretty high. He tends to swoop up fxr parts and seems to have cornered the market if you will. Hell of a nice guy though and he knows his ****.

A little confused though - your image isn't a FXDXT fairing.

The nice thing about the FXDXT fairing is the adjustable windshield, but like you have seen the price is high. Most people know the value and unless you find on CL or local you most likely will be paying a high price.

Have you looked into other options like a Rifle Roadster or maybe off an old metric bike?
