Default Plans changed, take a look at let me know what you think

I edited the post because I decided to go a different direction with my fender design. I posted a pic a couple posts down.

To have the fender hug the tire it may be necessary to lower it. that is how you get it to hug the tire. You may want to think about getting a different fender. If you have a big gap on the existing fender that you are wanting to add a extension then when you add the extension it will continue to have the gap to keep it in prospective, looking right. There are several company's that carry custom fenders, a few will make you a custom fender to your specs...
I had a set of custom bars made and a front fender made for one of my bikes. It wasn't that costly.
just a thought

Ok, After alot of thinking and planning and debating.....I still have no idea where I want to go with a rear fender. This is what I think I am going to go with though. It has some shaping to go, but with the characteristics I want in a fender it is either this our a tombstone. I have come to the conclusion that a tombstone (long in the rear) fender is good for a two-up bike and I think that I am pretty set on a solo bike.

Just so everyone knows, I have decided on a 2" Burly slammer kit and then I have a 180 that I am waiting to install. I think it will look pretty bad ***. Let ur rip, what do you think?

lower it. put a led strip tail light on the very underneath edge of the rear fender. chub up the rear tire and you will be looking good.

but not everything with slammed rear looks good

my problem with lowering it any more is the seat being able to mount to it. I am at the limit right now for the mounting tab to touch it. Any ideas?

with the burleys it will be closer but it won't be ON THE TIRE. if your going for that look you'll need to lower that fender, keep in mind if your doing so make sure you leave enough room for the tire flex. as you drive the faster you go the more the tire grows so don't go to low. also if you planning on doing that then i would just put the fender down and be able to enjoy the factor ride the burleys ride ok but they are a ll harsh sometimes. and yes you will need a new seat or make your own bracket on it, its really what you want and what you think looks good.

So I got anxious and pulled the shocks off. I put the bike on the lift and then dropped to show a 2" drop and I am very pleased if I say so myself. I think I am heading in the right direction.

looks great! i would soften the line you cut a bit so it does not look so... well cut... slam that sucker either lower on the fender or shocks... remember the seat is plastic man it will bend if you drop it a bit. then angle the back down a touch will let you slam the fneder and keep the seat normal. looks great! that pulley is screaming for powder!

Thanks for the comments, I will probably be hitting you up for a powder job this winter. I am looking at sticking with Red Hot Sunglo, but in a denim version and pinstriping. I can't get the image out of my head and I know that I will love it.
