I use the HD triple platinum... they work fine and last a very long time...i think i took my first set out at around 40000 miles and they looked fine...i still have them...stock are fine also. I am not sure of the perf. improvement??? maybe a bit better throttle response??? i would have to plug up the thermo nuclear injector plasma sensitive probe thingamagiggy to the bike to really know....My Crown Reserve tasted very good last night though....

I looked into the E3 plugs, but then I considered how I ride this bike. My Harley isn't a race-machine. I ride for just for the pleasure of being in the breeze. I bought/installed stock H-D plugs, gold type....same price as the steel ones, so I thought, why not! A tad of anti-sieze on the 'gold' and torqued 'em in. More important than what brand plugs, is what you are putting in the tank these days. I use the 93-octane with a shot of Sta-Bil for taste. I'm a carb-guy so what affect other than stock plugs has in a efi system, is an unknown here.
I ride in cold weather in the Spring and Fall and the platinum or iridium spark plugs shorten the amount of time needed to have the enrichener out. I don't claim to be able to feel an extra 3 horsepower on my bike but I know it when it runs more efficiently. I put new spark plugs on my bike evey year and some say it's a waste but like I said, you're riding a Harley, the price of a good pair of plugs is nothing.
I recently had an upgrade done to my Switchback and the dealer told me that they normally end up with 92 HP with the kit I bought. I put on a pair of SE plug wires and Autolite Iridiums before they worked on it and when it was all done it rated 96 HP. Like you said, it varys on each dyno but if I can spend $12 for 3 hP, would you do it.
Just to clarify....I don't work for the spark plug companies.
For whatever its worth I'm running NGK Iridium plugs with Screaming Eagle Wires. Have had this set up for several months now. Don't know about any horsepower improvement, but my Bob has been running fine.
I know this has no relevance to your original question (E3's) but just food for thought.
I ran the E3 in all my vehicles and I had one implode in my car. I never seen or heard of a plug doing that. Now I run NGK iriduims in all my vehicles. On the bike I put the stock plugs back in and rode it for a week to see the difference. At first I stalled the bike the first two take offs because the throttle just wasn't as responsive vs iridiums. On colder mornings the bike would cough and sputter for a block or two before it went away. Mind you this was all stock, no EFI module or ac yet. Stock plugs really need to warm up before it smooths out. I put the iridiums back in and it all went away. I have smooth starts, no coughing and sputtering and smoother acceleration. I'm with iridiums all the way.
Regarding the Anti Knock system.... use any manufacturers application guide and you'll see all of the plugs listed will be resistor plugs, compatible with the EFI/AKS.
