Default Progressive Front Springs

Hi guys, I have just fitted Progressive springs to my 2006, FXD35,
The factory manual says the fork oil should be 110mm from the top and the Progressive instructions says don't go any higher than 150mm from the top?
What have others done, I have done it to the Progressive measurement.
Thanks

I would have gone with what the manual says.

I installed Progressive's...the regular ones for the forks, not the lowering ones. I followed the manufacturer's instructions, not the Harley manual, in this instance. It calls for removing some fork oil. Reason being??? The Progressives are a much longer spring and all that material displaces more fluid than the stock installation. I was kinda surprised when I did my dis-assembly. The MoCo does it again...one half spring, one half spacer. Those bean counters will find a way to make a penny every time. You'll love your new front end...noticeable improvement immediately.

Did you go with the regular ones or the lowering ones? I used the lowering ones with a 1" spacer and used the manual suggested fluid. 26 oz a tube. Lol.

As its a FXD35 I wanted it to remain stock looking so I used the standard height ones.
