Well, I'm trying to figure out how to cut some of the weight on my '01. I'm even thinking about transplanting the TwinCam motor into a quicker-steering frame. I have never been too shy (sane?) to take a saw or torch to a frame! I like the rubber mounted motor but I hate the way the bike "wiggles" in the corners (swingarm connected directly to the tranny on Dynas). I'm also thinking about attaching the motor in the way Eric Buell does (he helped design FXR frame... but HD thought it wasn't "Harley" enough so they did away with it). Buells are still rubber-mounted but they have several heim joint links as well. This is done to get the motor to behave properly as a stressed-member... and NOT have the rear end moving around in a lateral axis.
Yes, TrueTrac would correct that part, but the part about a 30 to 32 degree steering rake AND the weight of the Dyna would still be there! I hate that HD is OK w/bikes being portly, porky, and basically overweight!
