Default rigid frame for 99 fxdx

l'm thinking 'bout switching my frame for a rigid, does anyone know a retailer/manufacturer that has a decent price for one (even w/out engine mounts),
and if the frame comes with no VIN# how can l get it titled?

Try any of the major aftermarket catalog dudes. Or go to your local indy shop and see what they can come up with. There are plenty of frames available for your motor. When you buy a frame, the manufacturer will issue you statement or certificate of origin. This will allow you to title the bike. Be aware that your "new" bike will no longer be a Harley Davidson, but a special construction, or whatever your state calls it.

If you "think" you might want to rigid just put some struts on your dyna and ride it around till you change your mind.
Paughco makes some rigid frames for tc88B motors , and they make some cool looking swingarm frames for the rubber mounted motor but I've never seen a rubber mount rigid.

The only guys I know that do anything for the dyna from a frame standpoint is Atlas. They're located in So Cal. Haven't met them personally - but have heard great stuff about their frames. I'm looking into doing a frame swap - and they've provided excellent customer service/tech support over the phone for my questions. (Ask for Peggy.)

I'd have to agree with the other guy though - why would you want a hard tail? Reasons (in my book) for doing a frame swap are larger rear tire and frame stretch. Atlas can do both. However, after adding up all the other "stuff" you'll need, it's relatively big bucks.

Good luck.
