Question on installing polyurethane riser bushings….
Hi – I am swapping out the handlebars and purchased a polyurethane riser bushing kit to replace the stock bushings at the same time. The risers are off and I have not removed the stock bushings yet, however when I look down into the stock bushings I can see a metal sleeve inside. The new bushings do not have these. Do I reuse this metal piece when I swap the bushings and if so, will I need to do anything special to get the sleeve out of the stock bushings and into the new poly bushings? Any input on the process would be appreceated.

Thanks, Dan
The cup washers as well as the metal spacers have to be re-used. You should be able to pry out the upper bushing using a flat screwdriver and push down the lower bushing to remove it.
Insert the metal spacer into the lower bushing (a little spit inside the rubber will help you) , re-install lower bushing & spacer and re-install upper bushing sliding it over the metal spacer and into the upper tree.

THANK YOU! I hate to take stuff apart that I don't already know how to put back together....your concise and detailed description of the process is exactly what I needed.
