Okay, I've been out of the loop lately. I sold the Heritage in my SigPic about 9 months ago so I haven't visited the Forum lately. I just came into a little money and I'm trying to figure out what to get and, literally, just discovered the Switchback and I am really stoked. By the way, I had a Streetbob before the Heritage and I am a big Dyna fan.
The thing that I loved about the Heritage was the heel-toe shifter as I'm 5'4" on a good day and that particular accessory really made riding it easy.
After getting really stoked about the Switchback I just discovered they have floorboards (which I also loved about the Heritage) but no heel-toe shifter.
Anyone done any research as to whether you can get a heel toe shifter for it?
Also, what is the availability on the Switchback.
I've always sworn I'd NEVER buy new but that might change.
No heel-toe shifter yet, others looking for it too. We hear the much awaited big influx of mods may start coming in around Feb. HD shop told me yesterday, same thing on time frame from them.

Called a dealership in CA that I used to go to when I lived there as I live in CO now and haven't gone to any in the Denver area yet. They have a used one for 16k with about 5,500 miles. They had 2 new which surprised me. The one with ABS was a little over 20k out the door. And, he said that of course, they could easily put on a heel-toe shifter.......salesguys.....

Took a peek at the list. Very few new mods coming in February. The only thing I saw for the FLD was a floorboard heel guard. Don't hold your breathe that we will see anything meaningful until this summer; if we are lucky. We may have to start calling MC to complain about the lack of accessories and parts.

Supposedly, HD is doing a release in Feb. It sounded more like information release of what's coming than actual parts release, though. It's all kinda hush hush because they don't want the indy guys to beat them to the punch. I can't confirm that, it's what a parts guy told this weekend. However, I know mrnone looked high and low for the heel-toe shifter to no avail.
Maybe HD is waiting to see how sales are before gearing up for more mods? Or, maybe they're in cutting back mode? I can tell you this: You will love this ride, it' a very very comfortable ride with power to spare and great handling. My dealer told me that as soon as they get one, it's gone. Mine didn't even see the floor. They had one for me to test drive though, and that did it!

What about making one using a Softail shifter lever (see image 1)?
You'll have to do some measurements first, to find out if this splined rod will fit in the FLD's left front bracket.
If there's a match you could cut the weld (A), take the splined rod from he lever (B), copy the FLD lever and re-weld. The Softail splined rod (C) will accept heel/toe shifter levers for sure!
Another option could be the use of an FLH splined rod (see image 2); not sure on the measurements of this piece, though....
