I saw this BDL EVO-8SB drive the other day, love the look of it. Does anyone know anything about this unit? How does BDL compare to Primo? Hard to find a black one http://www.beltdrives.com/evo8sb.html
I just put a Primo Brute V on my softail. I chose it as Primo is close by in case of any possible issues. In my research I learned a few things about the minute differences between BDL and Primo. First off i could not actually get in touch with BDL to speak to anyone.
BDL's you use loctite on the clutch hub bolts, Primo you use anti seize and locking plates. I have had mine on for about 2000 miles so far so good. Find out how your kick stand will be affected as there is a possibility it might need minor modification with a belt drive as it is designed to rest against the bottom of the stock primary.
The first thing I noticed a real difference with was the clutch, the dry clutch is so much stronger and smoother than my stock clutch was. The belt makes a bit more noise than the stock primary as it is open but i really dig it.
I have not had this long enough to offer any advice on real longevity. I sell both of them, pm or email if you want pricing.
Here is a pic with the cover and one without. This is one of those things I said I would never do, but it all fell into place and I said screw it.
Hey Drew, what's up? Do they sell the primo one in black? How much can you get me one? PM me ok, thanks! Btw, I like it without a belt guard, bad *** man. I don't worry about the belt noise, it is part of the belt drive mod lol.
