HI, I have a question about the HD 1/4 fairing. im wondering how much wind it keeps off the rider if any at all. i want some sort of windshield/fairing and if the 1/4 fairing will do the trick i want to put one on.
The fairing is quite short and takes a lot of the wind blast off your chest. The problem is that it redirects it to your head. They do make extensions that attach to the top to add a few inches.

i can say this...my hd fairing takes off enough wind 2 were my ball cap doesnt fly off my head....use 2 have a sporty with 14in meat hooks and couldnt wear my hat forward cuz it would blow it right off on the freeway
I'm going to look at the rifle Roadster. You should look at that one. It has three different windshield heights available. You can always get one of the taller ones and then trim it to your liking.
I just got the HD 1/4 fairing, it does take the wind blast off of your chest, since I live in CA and am required to wear a helmet it does direct the wind to about mid fullface helmet. I have no issues with this since i noticed the winds wraps nicely around the helmet no head buffeting at all, I use the scala rider g4 communication system and there was no additional wind noise, and had had no issues listening to my MP3 player or communicating with my bro through his G4.
will, how tall are you? because im on the shorter side. 5'9". so if your taller the HD 1/4 fairing might be perfect for me. it it hits you mid-helmet, it might deflect the wind to the top of my helmet and blow right off the top of it.
My wife started out with the sports windshield, then a small snap on windshield now she has the touring windshield and loves it! But she rides long distances and bar next so she needs/loves having a good wind block. She is 5' tall rides an XL low, the interstate wind wore her out after 3 or 4 hundred miles. So she got the big windshield then rode from Virginia to Arizona and back with no complaints "about the wind anyway" she found other **** to wine about but not the wind. LOL
I use the sport shield that HD sells for the Rocker. I painted it black on the inside. I get just enough wind at the top of my head to keep my helmet vented. It is a clean flow of air without buffeting. I can cruise all day on the interstate without fatigue. It is quick release but I havent taken it off in a few years.
