went over 200 miles on mine this past sunday so i decided to give it
a little highway run as i have been babying with varying speeds per break in procedure.
while i did run it up i still did not go over 3k rpm but what was strange was
the MAJOR VIBRATION at 2900-3000 rpm in 6th gear. im sure it is there at that rpm in other gears but it was really noticable at highway speed which i can forsee a problem with on a trip as it is right around 80mph,
if you have ever driven on the NJ turnpike you know is the average speed.
in any case while doing some research on it i see where some people believe it has to do with the 2-1 exhaust pipe transfering the vibes back to the chassis.
for any of you guys that have changed the pipe did you notice any change in the vibration? that is if you noticed it to begin with.
I felt that same vibration on a demo day ride of the Switchback, they tried to tell me it was low air pressure in the front tire, I didn't think that was what it was.
+1 on that... as i said, back and forth to work i wont see an issue
but when i get out on the road for a trip the vibes right in the sweet spot
are going to cause an issue
Why can't the MoCo take a couple of just built Switchback and ask a few of its mechanic to ride it as a test before launching them ? It looks like this vibration appears immediately, after a few hundred miles... so it would be spotted straight away, not an issue that appears after 40k miles..
Poor that the MoCo uses its customers to do the testing with the premuim they charge on the bikes.
I hope they come up with a mod/solution QUICK!

Agree!!!
Much like the '06 Dynas (first year for the 6-speed) being released without alignment dowels on the transmission cases.
I just had the 1,000 mile service done on mine and on the way to the dealer I did about 20 miles on the freeway and got it up to about 85. Didn't notice any vibration. I did once notice some vibration at about 50-55 mph but I think it was the wind and road affecting the bike since it was a very windy day and the bike does seem to stiffen up a little in the cold weather.
