Default I feel dirty.....

I have been looking at pics of bikes with LEDs tucked around the engine and am starting to like it. The big question is, what would go well on a black bike?

Black is THE PERFECT background for LED accent lighting! The big question should be, what color would you like to accent with?

You should also consider what occasions you are planning to run the lights. If your just putting them on for poser shots and biker meets then any color you like is fine and you can go hog wild putting as much or as few of any color lights as you want and just use a toggle to switch them on and off.

If you want to run them on the street your pretty much limited to legalities of your state for any color other than orange or white. Some states you can get away with non emergency response colors so no blue or red and other states only restrict one color like blue. Some states regulate use of the accessory lights to certain environments like you can't use them on the freeway or you can't use them within city limits. It varies greatly from state to state.

I personally am debating on orange lights placed under the tank to shine down on the engine which would accent the bike, make it a lot more likely to be seen at night but not shine up or out distracting me or other drivers and could be run power on when the bike is on. So my opinion is really think situation as well as color and go cheap like led strips from superbrightleds.com until your sure you like it rather than throw down for one of the spendy all in one sets you see ads for all over the bike sites.

Yeah I know, but like i say it is starting to grow on me.

I was thinking white would look sharp. I think that trying some of those cheap LEDs first may be the way to go. I would probably use them mostly while driving, as i dont pose with my bike much or pose my bike for pictures.

The blue and white lights look good with alot of chrome. Don't know how the lights look for blacked out bikes.

I added some red LED's to the rear of my bike just this summer. I did it to make me more visible from the side, not because I wanted to add more bling. In my case, I have EZ Brackets on the bike and I stuck 4" strips up under the brackets. I have one strip wired to the running lights and another run to the turn signals. They reflect off the chrome wheel, caliper, belt guard, etc. So far I've received a couple of compliments on them.

Got the lights from oznium dot com
