Default 27 degrees tonight

My ride home from work tonight was, shall we say... brisk. I checked the temp when I got home and it read 27 degrees. And to think, when I left for work this morning I thought, "Meh, I dont need my full face helmet today, it's not that cold." No heated gear, just some gloves, a textile jacket, vest, chaps, a 3/4 NovDot helmet, a bandana and a warm pair of boots. It was encouraging to know that a littlecold ain't gonna kill me (ok, a lot of cold).

But being the optimist that I am, I thought I'd share the silver lining to the freezing cold dark cloud of a ride home:

When you get home and it's only 27 degrees, you don't have to wait very long for the pipes to cool down before you put the cover on the bike!

Ride safe, and if you have heated gloves, don't take them for granted, haha,
Jimmy

Been there a few times and its not fun! The biggest thing you have to worry about is the black ice that might be on the road. I layer up when I ride and keep som spare layers at work in my locker just incase I need more when I leave, however I can't layer up my gloves and still maintain control of my bike. I am tied of my finger tips getting so cold that I either can't feel them or they hurt like hell, so I can't wait for my heated gloves to get here.

It's good to see there are others out there riding in these nice and chilly days.....just keep an eye open for those dangerous obsticles out there.

I ordered a set of these to help keep my hands warm.
can't wait for them. It takes awhile to get them but may be worth the wait.
Even with electric gloves it gets chilly.

they are the ones most people have been laughing at in
my FLD threads... BELIEVE ME, THEY WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT.

just be aware that they are fit alls so the first time you install them
you will have to modify to get a perfect air free fit.
i ended up using a razor blade to cut slits so they went around the cables
properly and then used black laces to tie them up tight.

coldest day for me so far was 24ş and it was also the first day that i needed an extra
layer while using them so i used my thin riding gloves
its a pleasure to ride this time of year and not get to my destination with
frozen finger tips or sore hands from trying to grip the bars due to heavy gloves

When I left for a lodge meeting last night it was 65 degrees and when I left to come home it was 42 with a wind chill of 30. Glad I had a coat in the tour pack.

Default 27 Degrees

Don't you just love it....Winter Riding that is....
On Christmas Eve Day I rode my FXDC 54 miles and the high was 26 degrees...in the not so sunny South Fork Payette River Canyon it was Colder for sure....But I was toasty warm with my Heated Gear from Gerbing's and my new heated insoles in my Boots. Sure did get lots of strange looks from the Cagers on the highway.....Wonder what they were thinking!?!?!?!
Not to mention I was smilin' ear to ear as it was my first ride with the 103 Stage Two kit finally done.
Now the snow and cold "MINUS 23" yesterday is keepin' the scoot on the Battery Tender....DARN.

I ride every day. Here in SC you can year round because there is not to many days with snow. I dont have any fancy heated gear, just good leather.
