Default street bob suspension questions

hi, first of all, this is my first post. glad i found this forum, lots of information on here.

so to my questions. now, i havent bought the bob yet, waiting for my tax return and then its to the HD dealer. but right now im looking over and deciding what im going to change right off the bat and know i want to lower it right out of the gate. ive been reading alot of posts, there are many on suspension. my question is, which is the best set up? ive seen so many different brands and what not. whats best now?

also, how are the burly slammer kits. thats the first lowering kit i found on the net but i havent seen it on this forum yet, for the dynas anyways. is that a swear word on this forum? or is it just no good?

also, with the front end, does it work to put progressive or burly springs, if their good, on the ricor intimidators or other drop ins? or is there a certain set up that i need to run with the drop ins? or is there something better for drops ins? im kinda confused on it.... if you cant tell. lol.

so those are my questions, just pretend like money doesnt matter. it does, but i would like to know what best is for our dynas so i can make my decisions based off of that. now keep in mind, i want to lower it. i like the looks of the bikes ive seen with the burly slammer kits on them, but i dont know if the burly set up is good or not. so im kinda lookin for low.

thank you for reading.

Burly is a good set up, i believe Progressive makes it, i run a Progressive drop in and 11 in 412's in the back, i've used Progressive for years and never had a problem, you'll read posts about Ricor or Works suspensions and those are great set ups, i've tried them and still went back to set ups i know, wasted a lot of money in the process, good luck and post pics

My setup is worth every penny, better if you do it yourself.
You could spend allot more with minimal improvements.
I didn't want to lower my bike because I ride it.
I went to 12.6 shocks for just a tad higher for better cornering.
you could go higher. When you lower you suspension you take away from the travel of the suspension and it's your *** that compensates.

Have the Burley 10.5 shocks on the back of mine, I've been pleased with them.

You took the words right out of my mouth!

To the OP, I installed the 10.5" Burly's about a week after I picked my bike up and love them for every mile I have put on the bike.

I run a progressive setup on my bike. I have the HD 412's in the rear (stock height), went HD because I ride two up alot with my wife. I found even the bottom of the progressive line the 412 a nice improvement over the stock rears. Once the new rear shocks were on though I noticed the dive and the softness of the stock Street Bob front end alot more. So I went with the HD spring for the front as well (stock height) and going to try these out with the stock fork oil. I have heard good results with heavier springs and light oil (so the stock hd fork oil being the lightest HD option) I think this combo should improve the front end overall.

thank you everyone for the fast replies.

the first suspension i found was the burly set up and read about it and what not, did some more looking but kept thinkin that i would wanna go with it instead of other setups. so i think im gunna stick with that. good to hear that they are decent at least. sure, gunna be a bit more stiff, but im ok with that.

so what about the intimidators WITH the burly front springs. is that a possibility or is that just not needed? also, when i go with the drop ins, should i change the fork oil at the same time to something different?

and robbie, glad to hear you run the burly set up, cuz ive been eye humping your bike on all these posts ive been reading. i really like your set up. lotta nice bikes on here but yours stands out to me cuz thats kinda the ideas i have with mine when i get it, in due time. but i promise i will make mine different, dont wanna copy ya. lol
