Its just nerves, these Dyna's get all nervous if you start them but don't take them for a walk! Mine does that till we get going also.

It looks like your idling a little high, you could ask the dealer to bring it down to around 1000 rpm.
Mine revs from 950-1050. It doesn't really stabilize. I think it's Harleys way trying to get the potato,potato sound. Maybe?

One thing to add, if you have owned or ridden a Softail, you may notice Dyna shakes at idle, Softail doesn't. Softail handlebar shakes at higher rpm but Dyan doesn't. You can't have the best of both worlds lol

it does that so if you let it sit to long without riding all the dust shakes off.

That is nothing. My SB shakes like a rigid frame mounted motor shaking the whole bike right down to the exhaust. Of course the 10.25-1 pistons, .574 cams, big heads and a few other things might play into it a little.

But it does smooth out going down the road.

Hate to get off the subject and rob the thread but how the f%&$ do you pull up the tach in the speedo? Is this just a 12 model thing?
