Default Street Bob Rear Light
Hi Guys

1st post. I've just ordered a 2012 Street Bob, does anyone know if you can replace the chrome rear light cover with a black one?

Well to offer up a little better welcome than the post above, I will say that as of right now there is no offering from Harley or anywhere else I can see that offers the Chrome part of the 2009-Current tail light in black, not saying that it isn't out there I just haven't seen one as of yet. Like posted your other option is to prep and paint it black. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Paint it. HD doesn't make a black one, can't powdercoat it because of the internals. Not hard to do. I followed a thread on here and it came out great.

The tail light is one piece, sealed with an LED bulb. You can break the lens off, disassemble, powdercoat and then glue the lens back on. Or you can mask the lens off, scuff the chrome for adhesion, and then paint it.

I went the paint route.

I painted mine, tape off the red lens and buy valspar metal paint, i did mine in flat black and it looks awesome
