Rates vary quite a bit from state to state, so it's not apples-apples comparing between states or provinces. SC requires uninsured and underinsured motorist property damage and bodily injury to protect me from some dipstick that doesn't have liability, and that adds a couple hundred a year.
I was paying around $800 for Progressive, switched to Markel (Bikeline) and dropped to $700. Just got a quote from Formost for $466 and will be switching to them in a couple months.

Netherlands $ 525,= full coverage 60% discount because of damagefree years. (15% more to get to in three years) plenty of tickets
Thank God we don't have a creditscorebased insurancefee uphere. Homeownerinsurance $ 350,= per year (brick house) Competition is fierce in the Netherlands liability is mandatory so is homeinsurance if you have a mortgage (everyone has a mortgage, it's my livelyhood) Free choice of insurancecompany.

I must live in hell as mine was 1300 a year last year. That was not even full coverage. I have a clean record and had 3 accidents but that was 5 years ago. It is time for renewal and I got a quote for liability and theft with 3000 for accesories and it is about $800 for progressive. Anyone have suggestion of who else to go with? Liability only is still $316 a year I believe. All I ever had before my harley was liability, and never had a problem, but now I am concerned about theft, but at these prices, I might as well jump off a bridge. lOL. It was only a little more for a lower deductable, but my budget was tight.
Markel has been doing bike insurance for about 35 years (I think). Go here............. www.bike-line.com
I did it all on line, and pay my premium online, also.
Great customer service, over the phone, also.

yea dude try progressive........I have a horrible driving record...good credit........thus matters......I have two accidents......36...............and I dont even have a cycle license..yes I know, In texas no M indorsment $160.00, found out the hard way............I pay 407.00 a year....for my 06 bob with an extra 3 grand in acc... 500 deduct..................I think Its pretty good, ...................

Like said already, depends on the state, which insurance may be cheaper.
