Hey guys,I have cycleshack slipons on my 2011 Superglide and will be doing a stage 1 A/C and SE Pro Tuner in the spring. My question is this, will my cycleshacks sound better once the AC and tune is done? Will that tinny sound
that I have now dissappear somewhat.I was considering taking my wifes Streetbob muffles and removing the cats and baffles and putting in cycleshack replacement baffles,I would like to have my exhaust done before the tune, once it's dynoed I don't want to keep changing things out and getting a retune.
If I'm not mistaken I think the SEI slipon mufflers were made by Cycle Shack.
I have a set of each of them and the baffles in both are that same scoop style. The difference is that the SE's have packing material and are a bit quieter. I'm running the CS's with the stage 1 and don't think they sound tinny at all. Especially compared to the V&H I had on before.
You will definitely hear a difference once you get it tuned.
On my 2011 superglide I got a deeper tone after I did the A/C but it wasn't a huge difference. I wouldn't use the old pipes off of your wifes bike because you already lost the cats when you put on the slip ons and it would be wasted effort without any noticable difference. If you don't like the sound after the A/C try some monster baffles in the cycle shacks.
I have the rush slip ons with the 2.25 baffles and it sounds close to full headers.
Also I just ordered a TTS tuner from harley direct for $329. It does everything the SE Pro does with a few added bonuses. They are the ones that made the SEPT for harley until they parted ways.
man this sounds SO much like my situation! I got an '11 Superglide and got Cycle Shack slip ons right away. I had a '02 Sportster with them and they sounded great, so I went with them with this bike, BUT it sounds the exact same way you describe-mainly at high throttle-a 'tinny' sound. Was thinking of going with another brand of slip ons, but have heard that with an air cleaner mod-like the full breather type-it will change the sound-so i'm planning on getting that first and see how it sounds after that's on. I'm
Thanks guys for giving me your input.I like the CS,really I do,but I do find that I have that tinny sound, other than that they sound great.I've had my wife drive by so I could listen myself to what they sounded like and I was happy with them, but i do have that tinny sound, mostly at ide,but I already have my SE Pro-Tuner,I got a great deal from a forum member here and so I'm just waiting for the weather now,it will most likely be April, that's when our weather will turn in our favor.
Rooti,I did'nt know that those baffles could be removed,my CS look the same as my stock muffles just smaller is all,I just assummed they were in there to stay,I wonder what size baffle is in them and what would be the next size up?1.75 seems to be the most popular.
