I have to say the older bars actually looked better, but the new ones ain't bad either.
Do you ever go to Poe's Pub for the Bikes In The Bottom's breakfast? It's a nice ride up there from Portsmouth.

I actually like the new bars better. I don't know, for some reason I think they go well with the springer front end. Looks good!

Thanks for the replies. Chop, yeah, same pipes. I always run drags as performance has never been the bikes primary purpose. Hows the new living quarters?

You guys convinced me I better hang on to the old bars for a while and do a few long trips before I make the final call. I think the old bars look more like traditional apes and the new bars look like tall handle bars, even though they are the exact same 17 inch total height. Funny really.

Piginablanket, yeah I used to ride to Poe's pretty often on their Sunday morning buffets, but they don't do the buffet any more. Now its just a breakfast plate special. I think I went 3 times all year. Me and the guys do stop in there on an occasional weekend night as they have live music pretty regularly.

Again, thanks for all the replies!

The thing that stands out as the best mod of all those is the brake parts and rotor swap. That old rear brake and rotor was distracting from the beauty of the rear wheel. The chrome inner primary really looks good too. It all looks much better man! Nice work!

Damn, you remember how crappy that rear rotor looked! Darn good memory. I agree. I am pleased as all get out with these new stainless rotors, not to mention how much better the pedal feels with thick new rotors that aren't all worn down. AND..... now they both match!

Actually, my wife fancies herself a bit of a leather worker. Thats a fringe skirt she made on the fender. I kind of like it, so I'm keeping it. But no, its not a mud flap. I have one of those (she made) on the front fender.

The Paughco's are a lot wider but with the taller risers they still keep me exactly where I want to sit. So far it seems to be a worthwhile change.

Because I was tearing into her for the umpteenth time, I also added fully chromed handle bar controls, polished front and rear rotors, chrome turn signal visors, chrome axle adjusters, chrome caliper and caliper mount covers, and a sweet inner primary cover. Phew.... that was a pile of Christmas presents all put on at one time.

Anyways, I am officially out of stuff to chrome on the bike and its time to move on the the next project, so I wanted to post some pics and get some opinions of the bars. I think they are an improvement over the old 15's but I like to hear ideas. I was wondering if you guys agreed with me, or should I keep the taller narrower bars that my WIFE thought looked better on the Springer forks, because of the small Low Rider gas tank. Ideas and opinions always welcome.

Heres the old bars:

Heres the new bars and all the chrome crapolla:

Thank you very much. Considering some of the bikes here, thats means a lot. I'd kill for a set of those Iron bags as well, but they are just out of the budget right now.
