Are T-Bars / Tall drag bars really that agressive?
Little background here, I just swaped out my chopped street bob fender for a full dyna fender, the bike looks kinda mis matched with my current RSD mini apes.
Question for those of you that are runing T bars.
Are the really that agressive for handling?
I have owned a sporster in the past with simple low drag bars and it put me in a very good position for cornering. I'm runing RSD mini apes on my bob at the moment and I couldnt imagine 10 inch plus tall bars would be very different that these mini apes.
It seems like something with maybe 5 inches or lower rise would work out better? Correct me if I'm wrong.
i cant recall who did the test, but apes performed better than tbars. they found the apes an all around better performing setup. better corning and turning, etc. ive always preferred the stock street bob bars over anything. ran them on my old ironhead and i could throw that thing around like it was nothing.
Oh they are very different than the mini apes. I've had both and currently run 10" straight up Wild1 Chubby Tbars. They give you a different hand position. It's just a matter of preference but I have always like high drag bars even back when they were all on dogbone risers before there were any TBars. I do have long arms so maybe that's why I like them so much, not sure. But to me they just handle well and are comfortable.
i think it comes down to whats more comfortable for you. if the tbars feel better and seem to handle better, stick with them. find a cheap set off ebay and try them out before buying a nice set.
I think the Drag bars on tall risers look better and give you more flexibility than T-bars.You can change the height of the risers, the angle of the drag bar or the bar it's self for more or less pull back. Apes also have allot of flexibility as far as moving them forward and back but you either like the look or not.T-bars have no adjustability but may provide a more solid feel for just that reason.
