Default Powder coating

So my thought is when I get me new pipes is to leave the stock AC except swap out the internals for the hi flow K&N filter setup. I want to try and break up some of the chrome first thing is to powder coat the cover or is this a bad idea

Another member did what you're talking about, I thought it looked really good. Check out user 'Willie G' albums, you should be able to see his finished pictures.
