Anyone have any pointers on how to remove the oxygen sensers on a stock exhaust? Im trying to take the stock muffler system off my Fat Bob and I heard to be careful removing the O2 sensors. They just wont budge!
I used a good size 18mm open-end wrench w/pipe over the handle for leverage. They definitely are on tight...spray some penetrating oil on the threads & crank away - good luck!
are you trying to remove them with the exhaust still on? if so unplug sensors and remove after pipes are off. When you disconnect the sensor under the seat tie something to the connector before pulling it out so you will have something to pull it back thru when reinstalling

Concur, mine were a lot easier to take off with the exhaust off the bike.
Just Did it on my Fat Bob, unplug O2 sensors, be sure to cut zip tie on front one, its attachted at the left frame in front. I used a paint stripping heat gun to warm them, then box end wrench to remove them.
Be sure to use anti seize if your putting them back in your new exhaust.
Awesome! Thanks for all the advice guys. I didn't know you can "unplug", the sensors. This way I can get them on the bench and give them some heat and leverage.

is the plug under the seat like a fusible link mine came unplugged before I could trace it trying to find it lol
