Years ago I started biking on crotch rockets, then after over a decade of nothing I picked up a Buell lightning. From there I bought a Suzuki sport touring. I drove both for a couple years and one day got drawn to the HD shop. They let me test ride several bikes, the first being the Fat Bob. After trying a Fat boy, Street Glide, Road King I went back to the Fat Bob. It just had a bit of everything, above all the handling that I was used to. I bought one and sold the Suzuki right away. I immediatly went on a two week tour, 5-6 hours per day. I found it more comfortable and less tiring than the Sport Tourer.

I still have the Buell, (the kid in me), but this season I'm going to see just how often I use it. I might sell it too.

The Fat Bob is great and it can get even better: new shocks, True-Trac, new seat, cams, tuner. Lots to keep, at least me, occupied.

Thanks for all the posts. The deal I had on a 2010 fell thru (dealer told me the wrong color) but that might be a good thing. Its freezing here right now so this will give me a couple of months to ponder. I do love the Muscle (that sounds a bit homo) but that Fat Bob just looks great and I fit the bike perfectly and it has more of a Harley look to it.
Time to do a little tire kicking....

I say test ride one, that's really easy to arrange where I am here. Odds are you'll like it. Don't expect it to handle like a sport bike, it's a nice handling Dyna but no sport bike. And it won't have the performance of the Muscle. But it has a great ride and I find mine to be the most exciting bike to ride I've ever had.

A True-Track really helped mine, and was worth the investment in my opinion. I also put on the Heavy Breather and the Screaming Eagle slip-ons, and the Stage One download, and that's all the engine performance I need. And I had to change seats, the stock was too soft for me, and I bought two Corbins, a Classic Solo and a Dual Tour.

I like the ride and it works for me as my only vehicle the last four years. Been very dependable, with the only problem being a rather inconvenient failure of the stater on a long road trip. It's not as nimble as a Sportster around town but it does fine. I love that I can do 700 mile days and more comfortably, and enjoy myself greatly while I do so. With the seats and the saddlebags I've added it's easy to tour. Yeah, sure I'd love a Road King in the garage too, and maybe one day, but the Fat Bob is my very satisfying one and only bike.

Try one out!

Couldn't be happier with mine, bought it in May and I'm still catching myself starring at it in my garage and starting it up just to hear the pipes scream. I never knew how difficult winter could be with a bike in the garage.

Buy one and have fun!

FatBob thoughts? I can't stop thinking about mine! Every day of winter is another day of FatBob withdrawl syndrome.
