Default Fat Bob thoughts?

Hey guys/gals. First Post. I have been riding an 09 Muscle since they came out in 09 and really like it but lately have been feeling the need to be on a more "traditional" Harley. I have been looking and the one that catches my eye is the Fat Bob. I love the look and styling of the bike and am thinking of switching over to a new one. My question is, should I? I realize that there will be a major HP and Torque drop but will the bike still be enough, power wise? I love the seating position and want to go Stage 1 with VH Big Radius (love the sound!!) I just want a comfortable, relaxed, fun to ride bike that is reliable and still has that agressive street look. The Fat Bob fits that need but I though I would ask for your thoughts?

I absolutely love mine, handles like a sports bike but feels like a big Harley. Be prepared though that this thread is probably gonna get Fat Bob hater comments from the peanut gallery. People seem to either love or hate the Fat Bob with rare few in between.

It's gonna come down to what you like. As I'm sure you know, many ppl here have the fat bob and love it. I'm not a fan but that's just my opinion.

The muscle is a nice bike. Traditional or not, that bike is bad ***.

I only have three things to say

1/ Buy a Fat Bob
2/ Buy a CVO Version if you want some more power
3/ Buy a second hand Fat Bob and spend the money you save on engine mods

Job Done

My recommendation is that you take a test ride. I have 3 bikes at the moment- 2010 Fatbob, 2010 48 Sporster and 06 Softail Deluxe. In the mid 90's I had an FXR that I loved because of how it handled. The Fatbob was the closest I could get to my old FXR in my opinion and thats why I picked it up. When I want speed and handling I ride the Fatbob. The Fatbob is a great handling Harley- in my opinion it's one of the best handling Harley's. Depending how much power you want will dictate what type of engine mods you do. As you know you can go crazy and get easily over 100 horse and over 100 ft tq. If you want a Harley that you can really get on in the twisties I think you would enjoy the FB. Good luck whatever you decide.

Love mine. Best handling Harley I have ever ridden. Im constantly grinding the outside sole of my boots in turns and its super stable even at speeds over 100mph. Mine has the 103 with VandH Big shots, SE Heavy Breather, and a SE Super Tuner. I'll admitt I want more power but cams and head work should keep me happy for a while.

A FB is gonna feel very different to the VRod. Having ridden both I'd say the pros and cons include:

Cons: Much less power, much heavier handling, air cooled engine cooks your legs in the summer, slightly worse seating position (personal though).

Pros: More torqy engine, more trad styling, more versatile.

Won't matter how many $000s you throw at the FB it will never perform like the VRod.

Mine doesn't handle like any sports bike I've ridden. But thats why I like it.

It's certainly better in the handling department than the Fat Boy I tried though.
