FLD 1k
Took the 2012 FLD in for its 1k tuneup. I know you can save a lot by going independent but I wanted to go "dealer" for this first one. My dealer, Skip Fordyce HD/Buell in Riverside has a good rep and I trust them. Yeah, it was expenive--by the time I had them put on some new Kuryakyn grips, we're up to $400+grips --but, I trust this dealer and had confidence in them. I talked/complained to them about a pronounced "clunkiness" in front-end suspension and upper-end vibration and sure enough-- they found that the steering bearings were "really loose." Now, the ride is a lot SMOOOOOTHER. So, I am a happy rider. Live long and prosper!

yeah when I got my 1k done I have loose neck bearings. got that fixed and it was great. installed a new top clamp and don't know anything about preloading the neck bearing, and now I have vibration back and a clunk.
