Wonder if it would work with the HD QD Fork Clamps.
I have the narrow vintage sits pretty good but doesn't fit around the tank.
I tried that with my Wideglide, You can modify your brackets to work with the Harley QD but it will not be as nice of instalation because you can not get the fairing as close to the forks. The QD mounting points are forward of fork center and the Memphis mounts are closer to center and have adjustments for tilt.
OP -I was considering dropping the cash on one of those for my 08 fxdf, do you have any experience with wind shields to compare to the fairing? I was considering a wind shield too, but i don't want to buy a windshield and then upgrade to the fairing if the fairing is the end all cure all for interstate travel at 80 mph.
Also, how tall are you? I'm about 6'1 and was curious if the taller windshield of the fairing would eliminate potential buffeting, i'm a strictly FF helmet rider.
No memorable experience with windshields. I just got back into cycles after a 20yr lapse. I'm 5' 11" and with the 5" shield, wind buffets right on the top of my head when I sit on the Mustang seat. At 60+ it ever so slightly affects my sunglasses.
Bare bones lowers me about 2" and feels much better. Sunglasses not afftected.
My buddies tell me that I should try one of the recurve shields. Makes a big difference. Maybe freedom shields...They make one for the memphis batwing. Also the Memphis Shades Batwing "Spoiler" Windshield is an option ?
Sorry can't be of much help at this point. I have a FF helmet also. Rarely use it...
I'm trying hard not to go with a taller windshield. I like the look I have now. A Danny Grey weekday solo is on the way ! I want to see how that positions me. Bare Bones sucks for comfort.

Is there enough room for a stereo with some decent sized speakers?
I am running 4" speakers in side my fairing. Instead of mounting them to the bars i mounted them into the fairing. Memphis shades fairing. These are patriot speakers i got off ebay for 79 bucks.

cool, thanks for the input. Sounds like the tall windshield will do it. This is going on my list of winter mods. I'll just eat the wind until then.
