ok- was hooking up a new license plate with signal and brake light capabilities-worked at first hook up-when making final connections i touched a hot wire with a ground and caused a short i assume-heard a pop-and no signals-both are out-front and rear-checked fuses in the electrical box and found one blown-exchanged it with another-since i didnt have any spares and still no signals. Where else can i look? thanks for any help

Which fuse blew? It should've been the one for the lights.
Which fuse did you "barrow"? There are no 'extra' fuses in the electrical caddy.
You do know that the turn signals can not be activated with the ignition switch in the ACC position... right?
Replace the fuses, turn the ignition on & try the sigs.
ok-the best i can remember the fuse that blew was either for the battery or accessories-i replaced the blown one and still nothing-all fuses are ok. Is there a flasher like in a car? Or could I have messed up the harness and/or the connection things in the tail light? All connections going into the tail light seem tight. I'm going nuts here !!
Just an idea. Why don't you divide and conquer... take off the new lights and put your (I'm assuming were working) old one back on, or a volt meter and see if you are getting voltage/light at the rear end. If not, your trouble is upstream from it.
