My battery ( H.D. ) is 6 years old and still cranking when i need one i'm sticking to stock , remember you get what you pay for ........

Yep and what you are getting when you pay double the price is the HD logo on it.
I'd rather pay less and leave the logo off.

By the way thanks for the heads up on the oil prices Red Evil. I had a few quarts of the Mobil One V-Twin in the garage but picked up 4 more quarts due to the sale price.
I think we need a thread stickied or something for good sale prices.

No problem, it's like that around here, whenever somethings on sale everybodys telling everybody lol! I like to stock up on anything when it's on sale cause stuff isn't getting any cheaper.

My 4yr old oem battery just flew south. Had I listened to myself and put it on the tender back in Oct or so when I moreorless stopped riding for the season it would probably still be alive today. I had no problems going to the dealer for a battery. I mean $130 for another 4+ yrs equals $30+ a year. Doesn't seem out of line.

I hear ya SC and yeah it's was still the original(stock) battery. I thought about buying another hd battery, but I was looking at something with a bit more cca's. A lot of these stock & aftermarket batteries are made by the same company(deka) which is only about 30 miles from my house. As for the price, I figured I would spend around a $100 for a new one, was considering an interstate battery until pig mentioned the one at advance auto. I'm a big believer in preventive maintenance so keeping the stock battery on a tender whenever the bike sat more than a few days helped it last as long as it did. I mean it's still cranking now, but just don't wanna push my luck.

The Magna Power battery from Advance Auto is white so you could always draw a little bar and shield on it with a magic marker and tell people you got the special 2012 109th anniversary white battery.

Actually I think I'm going to do that.
