Being new to HD's and all, I have a question. When turning her over my 07 Bob sometimes lurches forward just a bit, even if in neutral and the clutch engaged. It's just momentary. I have also noticed that when you are in neutral and motor off, clutch engaged, sometimes it's as if you are in gear slightly because it won't free roll. Normal? I'm still breaking her in so probably nothing to worry about. Thanks in advance.
My 06 Bob with 4400 miles does the same thing, and has since new, lurches forwardjust a bit sometimes when starting with the trans in neutral and the clutch engaged. Also with the motor off, transin neutral and with the clutch engagedsometimes it doesn't seem toroll freely. I guess I just took it as normal and didn't give it much thought except everytime I start my Bob. If mikeurig doesn't have the problem I will contact the dealer& havemine looked at. Thanks for bringing it up.
My 07 stbob doesn't move at all when starting and I wheel it up and down the driveway ( brick wall on both sides makes itVERY loud ) and haven't had any problems there either...hope that helps a little....
mine will do it in first gear with the clutch in only after setting for a few days
You may just need a clutch adjustment, or the cold oil in the primary is causing the clutch to drag a bituntil it heats up. Mine did that until I put Redline MTL oil in the primary it has a lower pour point. In Winter it will do that unless I let the bike warm for 1-2 minutes then it won't. Try letting the bike warm a bit in neutral before that initial shift into first.
If Mine did that in Nuetral Id take it back to the dealer for repair.Mine Does NOT do that and Infact it seems a tad dangerous to me. In Nuetral and Clutch engaged and it Lurches fwd when you start? That cant be right and needs to be looked at IMHO.
Your bike should never do that in neutral, it's normal to lurch a little when cold and in gear with the clutch pulled in. Take it back and have ot looked at.
